Naxos is known throughout Greece as a culinary island, offering quality products such as delicious fruits and vegetables along with exquisite wines. But Naxos is all about the cheese! In the mountains hundreds of goats and sheeps are raised, while cows are raised mainly in the lowlands. From their milk the famous Naxian cheese are made: graviera, kefalotyri, xynotiri and xynomizithra.

The people from Naxos are vibrant souls so while in Naxos - add their local citrus liqueur to your festivities. It's a liqueur made from the distillation of the leaves of citron, cultivated only in the fertile lands of Naxos.

If you are taking the ferry, you will be mesmerized by the coastline of Naxos, with the steep rocky mountains plunging into the beautiful Aegean Sea.

Naxos promises a memorable experience, with its culinary gems, monuments, quaint villages and pristine beaches.

CLIENT REMARKS

Kimberly A., Nevada City, California

"If you are looking for an experience beyond the tourist traps, an opportunity to interact with locals and learn their culture - then AGH is the company to work with. Jo-Ann listens to preferences and has never failed to deliver. Thank you for planning such an awesome experience! This is my third trip through Active Gourmet. I have chosen to use this service due to personalization and type of experience provided. While you may have opportunity to see the major sites, the real gem is to get an experience of local life and encounters with welcoming locals. Our hosts were FABULOUS. Every person we encountered was welcoming, informative, and lovely. We were sad to leave Naxos."
